Assemblage Entertainment is a new Indian animation studio based in Mumbai, India.〔.〕 Founded in 2013, Assemblage is a full service CGI animation and VFX studio. Housed in a 10,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art facility, the studio is supported by a team of over 280 people. ==Background== AK Madhavan ( a.k.a MadMax in the industry), a pioneer of the Indian animation industry,〔.〕 decided to awaken his inner entrepreneur at the age of 55 and co-founded Assemblage along with Upen Desai. Prior to this he spent 14 years at Crest Animation Studios where, under his leadership,the company won several awards both in India and globally (such as a BAFTA and a Star Guild Awards (previously known as the Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Award)). It has also created a few television pilots for Canadian and French production houses that are awaiting the green light. Currently, the studio is working on two full-length animation movies for global audiences—Blinky Bill and Norm of the North—slated for early 2016 release. Assemblage is responsible for the production of the entire 90 minutes of these films. Gaining the contract to make an animated feature films is not an easy task even for a big studio but the same is not even dreamt of by a young studio. But Assemblage not only won the contract, but also delivered both the movies in the record time of 12–13 months. Apart from this, the studio has also managed to get front credits as a co-producer for ‘Blinky Bill’ and ‘Norm of the North’. So far Assemblage has made its journey self-funded without bringing in any external investors. In November 2015, Assemblage Entertainment has made three key additions to its leadership team. PMV Ramana has been appointed Art Director, while Rahul Nair and Vaibhav Shah will head up the Lighting and Modeling teams, respectively. The Company has grown rapidly since opening in 2014, and now employs about 250 people.
